Daxlore Salukis are internationally recognised for their distinctive type and temperament, sound conformation and movement.

Daxlore Foundations

The Daxlore kennel was based on the black and silver bitch Burydown Beelzebub of Daxlore (Burydown Uki x Zomahli Fara) bred by Mrs. Hope Waters in her second litter, and the cream Burydown Candida of Daxlore, a full sister from a repeat mating.

Candida, bred to Mrs. Gwen Angel's Mazuri Kiraben in 1955 produced the striking black and white particolour dog Marathon of Daxlore.

Marathon sired several champions including littermates Ch. Alexandra of Daxlore and Ch. Alexis of Daxlore, and Ch. Shammar Boris of Daxlore owned by Mrs. Hilda Parkhouse.

Beelzebub, mated to Ch. Knightellington Vandal, produced Ch. Rebecca of Daxlore, dam of champions Alexandra and Alexis.

Between 1954 and 1986, 54 Daxlore litters were bred and several kennels in Britain have as their foundation Daxlore Salukis. These include the Amena kennels of Miss Mary Long, owner of Ch. Sovereign of Daxlore, the Starflight Kennel of Mrs. Janet Bullock, and the Ishieya Kennel of Doreen and Eric Stansfield (now in Australia). Daxlore Salukis were also a major influence on the Tahawi Kennel of Mr. Terry Thorn.

The Daxlore litters produced many champions in the UK and overseas.
